Just switched from Logic Film Scoring to DP

Post by a82music »

I've switched from Logic to DP for film scoring, so I'm trying to learn the basics right now.

I'm scoring a very short (10 minute) animated student film. I've already spotted the video, so I have my cue sheet in front of me (list of cues each with a start/end time). I have a total of 6 cues.

I want to create markers for the beginning and ending of each cue, correct?

How do you set markers aligned perfectly to a particular frame (NOT the "Record Hits" feature which I understand is real-time)?

Thanks!

Set the playback bar (whatever that's called...) and do your thing.

OK, I have the playback bar at the exact frame where I want to insert the first marker, so I drag the yellow marker icon over but it snaps to the first beat of the closest measure. That's the problem; it's not going to correct location in the measure.

Hold down Command button while dragging marker, it'll go wherever you want.

Better yet, hit cmd-m. Check the Commands window and change to key command (search for markers) to add options. You can add the marker and name it in one step.

Guys, more simply, open the markers window, and click add marker from the mini menu, marker is dropped precisely where the transport play bar sits.
