EDL XML Converter

Post by supersonic »

Has anyone heard of such a tool. I am going through dozens of EDL changes that I need to input manually to my DP sessions and this alone makes me think I need to start using my Pro Tools for mixing film tracks because there are EDL based ProTools conforming tools such as the conformer from Maggot Software. If I could convert edl to xml I would be sorted though.

A little update. I have since been talking to the good folks from AATranslator.
http://www.aatranslator.com.au
They are trying to put together a conversion process that will take the EDL from AVID and convert it to an XML FCP7 that DP uses to import and compare. If that works out we will effectively have a work flow solution for the conforming issue with Avid AAF sessions :-). I will beta test this and let you know how we progress.
AATranslator is way cheaper then the other option - PT with either Virtual Katy, Maggot Conformaliser or Titan.
