I have a large-ish template using VE-Pro, and I have each instrument coming back into DP on it's own audio track. I can compose, edit MIDI, and then record the whole template in one pass.
My problem now is, that if I change levels on the audio tracks, this changes the perceived level of the MIDI track.
I'd like to monitor the VE-Pro returns (from the slave machine) independently of the audio track- how do you handle returns like this? Do you use an aux track with some clever assigns? Do you send signal out of a bus to the 2-bus?
What's the best way to do this?
Thanks,
Robert

Mac Studio M1 128gb, DP. LPX, OWC Thunderbay external 4 bay SSD, Antelope Audio Zen Go, Presonus Monitor Station V2, Event 2020 powered monitors (1st gen). Best thing = CyberPower UPS!!! We have wind, rain, snow, ice, and lots of power outages!
