Troubleshooting Audio Buffer

Post by Makrotulpa »

Interested in your opinion on this issue i'm trying to work out.
I'm running an i7 2.4 Win8 with 16gb Toshiba laptop.
I have a MOTU Microbook II interface with the latest drivers from MOTU.
I've noticed running MachFive Standalone i'm getting frequent audio glitches despite the CPU sitting between 5 + 10%.
Hosting MachFive in Bidule using the same multi i'm getting roughly the same CPU with no glitches.
In both cases i'm using MOTU Microbook ASIO @ 44.1khz however i've noticed the buffer setting values in standalone are quite different - 88, 176,254, 352, 440, 528 etc
I'm set to the highest value listed - 880 - and still glitching
In Bidule i've got 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 - running at 128 seems to be totally fine.

Are these buffer values normal?
Any idea if they might be causing the glitches or am I barking up the wrong tree?
