Pitch Shifting Quality

Post by jmatos »

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a way to shift some vocal harmony tracks a minor third down without it sounding like robots. I've heard great things of Mach Five's pitch shifting and time stretching capabilities and was wondering if that could work for these harmonies. Of course the easiest way would be to re-record them but the album was done a year ago and there's no budget to go in and record the harmonies again.

Thanks for your help,

Juan

I've had success with intervals as large as minor 3rds using DP's built-in Pitch Automation. Is that what's giving you robotic results? I've found that it really depends on the voice. I'm sure MachFive's IRCAM capability is the way to go, but if you haven't tried DP's PA, give it a try.
