DP no longer finds Mach5 3

Post by NealF »

I just moved and when setting up my studio DP no longer sees Mach5 3.
When I tried to run it as a stand alone, I got the message that there was no license and that I should go to iLok.com .
Did that and downloaded their new manager. Started up the manager. Don't know what the program did by itself (I didn't do anything) but now the stand alone opens.
However, I still can't get it to show up in DP.

Things are a blur because of the move, but I'm pretty sure I updated Mach5 once I got set up.

I'm on DP 7.2 using OS X 10.6.8 .
Thanks.

OK.

Re installed it. Still can only get the stand a lone to open. Doesn't show up in DP.

Long shot... Is one 64-bit and the other 32-bit?

It doesn't. Mach5 is a separate program/plugin.

Select "Get Info" for both programs. There is a check-box for "Open in 32-bit mode." They should both be the same.

Also, make sure MachFive 3 is enabled as a plugin in DP.

I have had DP 7 lose plugins before. If none of the other suggestions work, uninstall and reinstall DP.

Run the installer. When you get to the drop-down menu, you will see the uninstaller - run it.

If your CD is an older version, you will need to uninstall from the updater first, then your CD. Reinstall in reverse: CD first, then the updater. You do not have to run the in-between updaters, only the final which really should be 7.24. If your CD is 7.24, run it directly from the CD, of course. Have your authorization code handy as you will need to re-authorize when you are done.

I have had to do this twice over the years and both times it fixed me right up.

BTW, I had a frustrating authorization issue last time I had to authorize DP 7 after a recent Time Machine restore. I used the minus sign instead of the dash and it wouldn't take. Finally, I tried the dash instead and it worked. I don't know if it was a Mavericks thing or not (certain Terminal commands have become sensitive to that in 10.9 also).

The reason I had to do a TM restore was that an Izotope uninstaller wouldn't work in Mavericks. My licensed software was giving me an eval time out after I tried a demo - never an issue in ML or earlier. A TM restore to a few hours earlier fixed me up. DP 8 gave me no problem but my Izotope plugs wouldn't work in DP 7. Weird.

MachFive was not enabled. When I enabled it I got a warning that it failed and if I enabled it the program might crash.

I also tried to find the plugin to see if it was 64 bit, but no matter where I looked I couldn't find it.

Update: Now that that plugin is enabled, I can't start DP at all.

Don't have that check box. Maybe it's not in OS 10.6.8?

Thanks. I'll try that when all else fails. I'm wondering if Motu somehow didn't say something like - The new upgrade will not work in 32 bit machines.
