I think this the first MOTU/DP thing Groove 3 has done?

I have a few Groove 3 videos, and they are all well done. The one for Mach 5 is by Eli Krantzberg who is very active and very helpful on a Logic list I use. If this is as good as his other stuff, it will be well worth the price.

And it's great if Groove3 has decided to deal with MOTU products. The DP video available at Motu.com is getting a little long in the tooth, and a new one from these guys coinciding with V8 would be a very good thing.

I gotta agree: Eli's stuff is usually really well done. Am looking forward to this.

Eli is a DAW guru who is both very thorough and entertaining. I have several of his tutorials (MIDI orchestration, Kontakt, Voice Overs and many more...) In each case, he presents the content in manageable bits so as not to overwhelm, while guiding the viewer to solid mastery of the application or process.

Groove 3 is very receptive to suggestions for new tutorials. If enough people bug them about a DP tutorial...

More specific comments to follow.

If someone is a power user, knows everything in the manual, and can make M5 3 do tricks, then the Groove 3 tutorial may not be for you.

Having read the well written manual and being half way through this video tutorial, I can say that, it's well worth the small cost for the wealth of information provided for beginners, immediate users, and honest power users :D .

I'm very pleased to see the tutorial featured here:

It is $10 off right now so I ordered it; I also got the set of discs to be mailed to me. I went through all the online MOTU ones they were helpful but not a lot of stuff to them, I am hopping this will be an inspiration.

I have been going through the videos; they are easy to follow and I have learned things I never knew so it was well worth getting.

The M5 manual is well written but there were places where my eyes glazed over trying to comprehend the complexities of M5.

The Groove 3 tutorial does an excellent job of breaking the content down into manageable bits of information. The Oscillators chapter really clarified how things work that just didn't translate that well for me when reading the manual. :rtfmmad: Even so, it took me a while to work through the content vs passively watching each topic area.

Reading sections of the manual make much more sense after watching the video.

I'm new to MachFive 3, having jumped directly from the original MachFive. The videos are well done and very informative. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
