Hi - testing out an 2013 iMac for DP. Trying to figure out the best HD configuration.

I have a 1TB Fusion Drive (internal on the iMac), a 1TB SSD (in an external USB 3.0 enclosure), and a 1TB 7200rpm HD (in an external USB 3.0 enclosure). Which config will give the best performance?

1) Fusion Boot / SSD Recording
2) SSD Boot / Fusion Recording
3) SSD for both
4) SSD Boot / 7200rpm Drive Recording

thanks!

I'd go with the prize behind Curtain #1, and use the spinner for Time Machine backups. You might also want to keep a daily backup of your DP projects on the Fusion Drive.

Thanks I'll try that first. Was thinking that would be the way to go.

#3 for me. Offload your projects to #1 when done.

Save the spinner for Time Machine.
