Sierra 10.12.1 and iTunes 12.5.2 Trash problems

I've been on Sierra for about a week and everything is surprisingly smooth. I upgraded iTunes at the same time. There is one minor, but very annoying bug/feature that I just can't fathom: If I delete an item from my iTunes library and move it to the Trash, the item becomes invisible and I can't delete it from the Trash unless I go through the extra step of making the file visible. If I restart the machine the files are visible and deletable again. Any files sent to Trash from any other apps delete normally. I burn through a lot of podcasts, and I want them off my hard drive ASAP, and this is becoming a pain. I Googled Mac Trash problems and came up with quite a few threads, but none this specific. My question is if this is a bug or a feature, and can anyone else reproduce it.

Thanks in advance.

I've been doing a lot of cleanup in iTunes this last week and am not seeing this in 12.5.2 or iTunes 12.5.3 released day before yesterday.

The App store has a bit of a delay in reporting updates since Sierra. After clicking on Updates, it sometimes takes several minutes before showing what is available.

This issue seems to have been resolved with 12.5.3.
