Many websites won't load SOLVED!

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

I'm posting for future reference... title says it all. This link will tell the rest (including the solution)... All at once I couldn't load most webpages. I happened right after installing the PSP file PSP_MasterQ2_2.0.3.dmg. Maybe coincidence, maybe not, but there's the solution in any case.

I didn’t follow it exactly, but in the folder (located in the main directory, not the user directory) I only deleted the settings file and the preferences file. Things are buzzing along nicely now...

Good to know.

I found this comment interesting: "Pity you have to reboot ," Huh?!?!

OK... enough applications including a few from Apple have memory leaks that rebooting is part of my daily routine.

Since upgrading to 32G RAM, I no longer run sudo purge in Terminal but on those occasions that I test, I can see the build up. If you run the command, you will release application memory but rebooting starts from scratch and the result is lower than clearing RAM in Terminal.

I don't run maintenance utilities anymore as 100% of them are useless but I do reboot.

BTW, I am not certain if DP or some of my plugs have a memory leak but if I leave it up for a few days, it will freeze my iMac. Since I now reboot daily, that's no longer an issue.

I believe this and another problem is connected with PSP. The license file issue should only affect those running Sierra.

I posted relatively painless workarounds to both here:

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=62551&p=534226#p534226

and have given PSP Support the heads-up.
