Better Snap Tool...

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

Just bought this from the makers of Better Touch Tool. Cool app for $3, but doesn't play well at all with DP. I'm loosing menu bars and the movement of windows with BSTool is unpredictable.

Anyone else try this app yet?

It is. Frankly, with three monitors and not having them on all the time, it sometimes is a problem if a window opens in a powered down monitor. With this app, you can created a key command to cycle the window thru monitors. That alone is well worth $3, IMO.

I'll be playing around with this but it's already changed my workflow a bit, as has their sister app, Better Touch Tool.

Thanks for answering, Mikey!

I'm confused. I thought that BST is now incorporated in BTT:

I haven't tried the BST in DP yet. I'm on v.1.66 of BTT. You use this with Consolidated Windows? How?

I float some windows out of the CW, like the mixer and meter bridge. I like the control but sometimes DP just screws up the CW when I'm applying BSTool to the mixer. Weird. I still have some learning to do. I didn't know the two apps were combined. Don't mind the $3 and happy to support good work.

The two apps aren't fully combined yet but will be. It's a little confusing.

Anyway, I use three monitors also. I'm going to check this out. Thanks for the heads up.

The window snapping in BTT seems to be fully implemented except for multi monitor use. With my initial tests, some windows work correctly and some don't--notably the mixer, but I'm not really sure what I'm doing:

Thanks. That validates me purchase as I'm using three monitors and find the app extremely useful in that regard. I'm liking it, a lot, and in conjunction with BTouchTool and the Magic Trackpad 2, I'm navigating and editing much faster than I did with my little mousies...
