Possible to flash video card eprom firmware?

Post by ghobish »

I have been gifted an nVideoQuadro 4000 video card, but it's a pull from a Windows machine. Is it possible to flash the eprom on this card to make it compatible with a MacPro 5,1 running Mavericks?

Is it worth the effort to run Windows on the Mac? Would that work?

I think you're pulling my leg again, Mike... but it's a serious question. An associate who does silent film restoration just upgraded his (Windows) system and offered me the card gratis. Heck, you might even know him...

My understanding is that you can – lots of chatter to that effect. From what I am reading, it has to be done on a PC. I found a download link for the Mac ROM.

I was joking. I went to high school with Gary and play for an LA comedy show with another guy who went to school with us. Obviously that doesn't make me a very good comic. Lol
