Interesting. When I did this with my MacPro and updated it to Mountain Lion (I think), the messages app didn't work as it should. I could not send messages to iPhones, etc. I might give this a shot when I have some free time, However I occasionally use Now Contact and ML was the last OS it worked on. I could keep a partition around for that I suppose. Or just wean myself from Now Contact which I've largely done. I just really liked the way you could merge contact data with letters, faxes, other forms. I wish there were another PIM for Mac that was as useful as Now Contact. Sucks that they went under. :(
