MOTU 24i input levels

Post by drpanties »

Good morning...does anyone use a MOTU 24i with a PCI 424 card on a Mac? I'd like to get the input levels to accomodate -10 db inputs. Supposedly you can do this with the PCI 324 card, but the function on the 424 eludes me. Please help. Thanks, Pete

I think this is set in the PCI Audio Setup app.

Mac 2012 12C Cheese Grater, OSX 10.13.6
MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O
Novation, Yamaha & Roland Synths, Guitar & Bass, Kemper Rack

One would think...It certainly is for the 24i/o, but there are no options for the the 24i. Go figure. There's even an addendum to the 24i manual on the MOTU web site; it shows you how to do it with a 324. But nothing about a 424. So I'm flummoxed.

Blimey, I just realised you weren't talking about the 24I/O.

IIRC the 24i preceded the 24I/O, so it's conceivable that the option wasn't available as a software adjustment at the time. Could it be that there are dip switches on the unit itself for perhaps 8 of the channels? Might said switches, if they exist, be contained within the unit?

I have a vague recollection that some interfaces operated this way before the ability for software adjustment came along...
