Have been using my iMac 2009 for long time, now thinking the upgrade, iMac 5K or macbook pro.
my old iMac setting is i5 Quadcore, 16GB ram, dual HDD. I use DP and VI tracks usually up to around 20 tracks. They are fine, only sometimes it said the CPU is overloaded. Thinking of my new machine, and I'm just wondering if 16G is enough actually.
I know the ram of iMac is upgradable, up to 32GB, but this features cost me nearly a thousand USD more. Any suggestions?
imac 5k or macbook pro

You aren't the only one asking.

Whatever you do, make sure it's an i7 or better. The FPU improves some functions in DP dramatically over the i5.
