Question on first Mac OS's that ran on Intel macs

Post by Timeline »

I have a couple of old Steinberg programs I want to freeze tracks on but thy don't run on Snow Leopard up. Can someone tell me which OS version I need prior to Rosetta being involved to install on an HD to get some of these apps working again? Was it Tiger?

Thanks

Gary

It depends. 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 and especially 10.5 had conflicts that required software upgrades (sometimes very expensive in the case of Adobe and BIAS) to run. It all depended on the app.

You will have to Google the system requirements for the specific application and version that you are trying to run.

Hi Mike. Yes, it's looking for a file called syndic.Bundle which is an error that means unexpected interface. I tried loading Snow Leopard to get them to work. Everyone on the web seems to think its dead in the water though and Steinberg orphaned the software years ago. I have an old mac that runs 9 and 10 and I think I will try and get it going to see if it works with these, who knows. I have a bunch of non rendered files to freeze and I'm just trying to recover them. The software was Hypersonic II and Virtual Guitarist 2.
