Buying a Monitor..Help

Post by sdfalk »

First let me say that I'm not buying an Apple Flatscreen to go with my G5...Pretty tight on cash.
Second thing is I'm Looking for an LCD with a DVI connector.
I'm new to the land of LCDs (been using giant 21inch VGA for years..it just died)
What should I look for in an LCD?
I'm looking at either a 17, or 19 inch..
Suggestions, recomendations?
Thanks

Stephen

Best deals I've found are on a brand called Kogi. I bought one when I got my mac about a year and a half ago because the Apple displays were too much. It's worked great and the picture is incredible. You can buy 2 17" Kogi monitors for about the same price as 1 17" Apple display, unless the Apple displays have gone down in price. I was a little sceptical about buy a brand I had never heard of personally, but I've found out from other people, they like them as well.

I had to buy a replacement for my old Apple CRT last month. I went for the least expensive that would allow me to connect to a newer computer when (if) I purchased another one. I bought this one for about $360 (after rebate):

A CTL 7Gx - http://www.ctlmonitors.com/ctl7gxspecs.htm

Works very well, but is not ••œperfect••

I got the Benq fp937 19" LCD. It's great, and about one third the price of Apples 20", at least here in Australia. Blends well with my G5, so might get another one...
