DVD Player app not working properly in Yosemite. Please help
Hello.
My showreel is a disk image done with iDVD. I used to be able to mount the image, get a Finder window with and AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders, and it would automatically play when I opened DVD Player.
Now, when I open DVD Player, I can hear the sound, but the video is not showing (it only appears as a grey screen).
This EXACT same disk image works perfectly in any of my other computers, all with the same OS (10.10.2)
I've repaired permissions, restarted, etc., to no avail.
Any ideas, please? I really need to figure this one out. I tried Googling, but I only get unrelated stuff about the physical DVD media player tray and not the software.
Thank you!

I've noticed that DVD Player.app in Yosemite is peculiar about homegrown DVDs, but seems to play commercially pressed discs just fine. I've yet to find a DVD that VLC won't play, though, in any OSX version. Have you tried VLC yet?

I don't even know what VLC is, but I will find out about it
Thanks for pointing it out for me.
The thing is that, if possible, I always like to keep my machines with as little as possible of 3rd party software, especially when it has it already...
Could this has something to do with those kext ir keg files?
It baffles me that it works in every computer (same OS) EXCEPT (of course) where it should work (my master computer)...

You could load a piece of roast pork into VLC and it will find a way to play it.

V. 2.2 out now:

I've had VLC on all my Macs from day one, and it has never been a problem.

Thanks, guys. I just downloaded the app, and it works just finecuttime wrote:V. 2.2 out now:

The ONLY thing I lost were the QT "markers". This is a disk image file I created in iDVD, and these markers used to let one navigate through different sections of the DVD file - my ads showreel, so ads could be easily skipped.
No biggie, but I'll have to figure out a way for those to show in this app, so it's navigateable.
But at least it mostly works as before. Thanks!
