Hi,
I just bought a used 896 HD.
I made sure it was working before I bought it.
The previous owner used it with an older macbook and Logic.
I want to use it with my MacBook Pro (2011) - Yosemite OS 10.10.1 on Logic.
However, the problem is not with Logic:
My Macbook DOESN'T recognize the MOTU 896 HD.
Things I already did:
1- Downloaded the most recent update of the driver.
2- Tried to use another computer.
3- Tried to use another firewire cable.
I know it works because I can plug a microphone and I'll be able to hear something if I plug headphones.
Is my Macbook too recent?
I use a Firewire cable 800to400 (800 in my Macbook; 400 in the 896HD)
Is there anyone here who can help me out?
Thanks,
PROBLEM w/ 896HD

Re: PROBLEM w/ 896HD
There are two applications. One is Apple's Audio MIDI Setup.app in the Utilities folder; the other is MOTU Audio Setup in the Applications folder.
Does the 896 show up in both applications when the unit is on?

If it shows up in both apps above, it is likely in the setup. See the manual:However, the problem is not with Logic:
