post yosemite install…

Post by Schweats »

Post Yosemite install , while using Safari , I navigate to youtube and experience no sound output. Checked
'Sound' at System Prefs and my soundcard is properly selected ( MOTU 828 mkIII) , also , if I navigate to
a website such as John Lehmkuhl's Plug-In Guru.com site , none of his tutorials will produce soundand likewise
if I navigate to the Spectrasonics' website to watch/listen ot any of their tutorial vids.

However, If I use Mozilla 'FireFox' or Google 'Chrome' or 'Opera' as my browzer, all works as normal and sound
output is as normal.

Any clues as to what may have happened in the Yosemite upgrade > (latest) Safari version causing this ?

Many thanks in advance ?

Safari is still buggy as hell but that is unlikely to be the problem here. Make sure that the volume on YouTube is turned up. There's a control on the web site. Every once in awhile, I notice that it will turn all the way down--no idea why.
