OK, why do my Desktop icons for the System HD and my other drive (and partitions) keep moving to different spots?
How do I get them to stay where I put them the next time I boot up?
I must have missed this in Apple 101. My OS9 machine kept them in place.

Re: Stupid OSX Desktop Icons Q
Not sure if you have tried this and excuse me if you know this already:
from the desktop go to the apple menue bar View and then slide down to Show View Options and make your preferred settings.
Other than making those settings that's about it.
Sometimes you may have to re-do those settings if you run programs such as Cocktail.
Hope this helps you out.
