1.2 mdd mac audio input not sticking

Hi all
i just tried to use an old ProTV II capturing card in OS 9 on my 2x1.2 mdd, which works ok in the 2x450.
In the mdd, the ProTV II soft will sometimes not even start ( 'ProTV is used by another app' ), and once it launches, choosing the sound input in audio settings will not stick. I have the feeling QT 6.03 wants the card... or some other codec interferring ?
Anybody ?
