Using another HD Partition

Does anyone know if there are any problems with loading OSX on an empty partition on main HD and just starting from scratch and use it to boot from. And just leaving the other partition as is with old OS.

Yes, this should work just fine providing that you already have your drive partitioned.

I already have 3 partitions. I cleared out one and optimized hardrive for clean install. I'm gonna give it a try using the optimizing suggestions in the Electronic Musician article "Traking The Big Cats".
