Did the Combo Updater this time as it's been awhile and I was starting to suspect some missing dependencies here and there.

Am about to run DP now, on a fairly complex project.

Everything else seems... snappier. :-)

DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE!!!!!!!!!

Even with a fresh from-scratch default no-content project, DP 8.06 is crashing REPEATEDLY.

Premature Burial.

One reboot is not enough. Rinse. Repeat.

I also did Repair Permissions after EACH reboot.

Then, the next time I opened DP, I used a blank template to make an empty new project on my main SSD system drive, far away from my "real" projects.

After that, I had a valid Audio Units Info Cache again, and could restart with a real project that has lots of MIDI and audio.

If I get another crash, I'll report back.

UPDATE: I did some pretty heavy lifting for several hours late last night, and no crashes in DP after my third round of reboots and Repair Permissions.

A lot more permissions had to be repaired than normal but I had no issues in DP 7.24 or 8.

What you are describing is similar to what I went through with the OS 10.9.1 update. In Console, I discovered that the Mackie HUImdriers were failing to load - weird because i make no calls to them. I wound up reinstalling DP 8.05 and rebooting. Fixed me right up.

Wow, gave me pause as I stupidly updated while in the midst of a small project. I hadn't opened DP yet but immediately booted up in Recovery mode and repaired disk and permissions a few time just to be safe. Everything is fine here in 10.9.4/8.06, etc.

Not my smartest move...

Hyperbole aside, after repairing permissions (and there were quite a few) I ran DP all day yesterday and started a couple of hours ago today and not one problem except I can't scrub MIDI notes on my Plugsound Pro VI. I haven't tried shutting off pre-render yet (likely cause) but otherwise, everything is running just peachy keen.

I did a check disk and repair permissions before and after updating. The disk was fine before updating, but I had to do a disk repair from the recovery partition after the update. Maybe just a coincidence?

I've noticed no change in anything with 10.9.4 on any of the Macs I've updated - 6 so far. I always run from the Combo Updater and repair permissions upon reboot.

I did have wake from sleep and Magic Trackpad issues after 10.9.3 but it was the Chrome browser that was the culprit when I had too many GoogleDocs open. Weird. Anyway, Google fixed that a few weeks ago.

My day job has me starting up with 60+ tabs open on two screens including 10 with GoogleDocs. Chrome is the only browser that handles that well - when it behaves. One thing I like is that, when Chrome acts up, I can place a trouble ticket through the Tools menu. It's not unusual for such problems to be fixed within hours.

DP 8.06, OS 10.9.4, Mach5 3.2 and no problems except for a free version of the Eventide UltraChannel plug-in that crashed DP and also the latest version of Final Cut Pro.
