Resize success

Post by Phil O »

Just a FYI post.

The boot drive on my big mac (as I call it) was getting filled up. More accurately, my boot partition was. I've been hesitant to resize it for fear of losing stuff that can't be replaced. For example I'm still using elemental audio's InspectorXL. It's still working great via 32 Lives but the installer hasn't worked since I don't know when, so if I lose the authorization, I lose it for good. I could copy it to another HD using SuperDuper, but right now it's on my fastest and newest drive. So, I went ahead and gave it a try. -yes, I did a backup first  .

I'm happy to say that it went without a hitch. The resize feature in Disk Utility is straight forward, fast and (as far as I can tell) safe. No need to reformat. Yea Apple!

Thanks Phil. I've feared that resize feature as well. Good to know it works.
