I've learned lots of infos in the past weeks here on UN.
I'm still not happy with the performance of my dual 1.8 G5 with 3G of ram running DP 4.5.
I still get crashes and a lot of beachballs.
I think I'm ready to try reinstalling Panther with a slimdown version for music only and no Internet (gulp!) and no Airport x-trem card.
I did try the 2 users accounts and I didn't like it. I was in the middle of a session and couln't get out of a account for something else. I'm sure it was a stupid mistake but still it wasn't funny. I know Panther is suppose to be design for performing all those tasks without problems.
So any reccomandations here?
Right now I'm using DP 4.5 on 10.3.7
and my Audio files goes on LaCie FW2 160G and I also have FW 400 80G. I have the Airport card.
I record with 828 II tru RME ADI-8 Pro.
I have Waves Plat V5
BFD Drums
RMX and Atmos.
Mach 5
Thank you
SB

Reinstalling Panther?
iMac 27" i7 4.0, 3Te.32 G of Ram, Apollo Silver with TB expansion (coming up).
Re: Reinstalling Panther?
I've got the solution ! You send me your dual 1.8 G5 with 3G of ram and I'll send you my dual 867 G4 with 768 megs of ram.
It runs dp 4.51 perfectly. I can surf the web while recording live tracks and burning a dvd. All at the same time ! No glitches. You have to hit it with a hammer to make it screw up.
So... whadda ya think ?

Re: Reinstalling Panther?
For the G5 I might give up the dog...maybe...
But I don't think that my doggie mama will go for it... darn...
Seriously, your rig compared to mine, you should be doing alright. I don't know why your having such bad luck.
Best wishes !!

Re: Reinstalling Panther?
Thanks 4 the greetings!
I started all over. It's a long process with all the updates and files and pref. etc..
But it seems already much better. Looks like I'm the right track!!

Re: Reinstalling Panther?
I recommend you download the "combo" 10.37 OS X updater from Apple and then just run the installer. It does not zapp any third party installations it just refreshes the OS X.
I've downloaded the "combo" 10.37 and burned a copy. Now, whenever my system goes wonkey I just run it to refresh Panther.
