Lagre temp files

I have notice my main HD 150 gigs on my G5 2.0 has only 35 gb of space left, WOW yet I have only 15 gigs of applications including the OS 10.3.6 Where did it go! I have found hidden files in a folder private/var/tmp/ In there are 3 folders with all around 35 to 32 gigs with one file in each? 99 gigs worth

I wonder if I can delete theses files!

Moreso I wonder if OSX has created them? Any Help world be great before I have to reformat oh God Cheers DH
