Yahoo! mail problems with Mac client - fixed finally

Post by mikehalloran »

Yahoo made some changes yesterday. Whatever they did is causing the Mac email POP client not to download anything sent on 4/29/2014 or after. Yahoo Support had me create another account - it, too, downloaded everything through 4/28 only.

My iPad works via IMAP but I don't want that. I can see it sitting on the server when I log into the browser.

I have an escalated trouble ticket in.

Update: as the day progresses, it gets even weirder. Mail now downloads but, when you click on it, it is blank. Then it disappears from the IN box.

It must have been because I was an early complainer but, many calls back and forth later, they appear to have fixed it. Three days...

I've got to find some other hosting service. I pay too much for this.

I've been getting very irritating behaviour from Yahoo for the past 2 months or so as well (Yahoo Small Business).

Not only do I get at least 600 or 800 spam emails a day, but if more than 100 of those gather in the server without me downloading them, then Mail won't be able to get any emails until I log into Yahoo's server and manually remove the Spam from the site. Only AFTER I do this will I be able to keep getting my email. So it happens that I must do this 3 or 4 times a day! How nice!

I really need to contact them about this.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Or change to a different service.... Gmail is pretty reliable. I use the mail server from my web host and can filter out most span quickly.
