JBridgeM works on VSTs. 32 Lives on AUs. 32 Lives is more expensive, but seems to be more polished and works with quite a few older plug-ins.

Not a problem. I want to have as accurate a record of info as possible and don't have any problem admitting when my answers are incomplete or completely wrong (not that the latter has ever happened...)

32 v 64 bit is one of those very confusing things and you can get seeming conflicting info from reliable sources. It doesn't help that you can run 32 bit programs in a 64 bit OS and that you could formerly run the OS as either 64 or 32 bit until Lion.

That's my 2 bits. Let's not even get started on 1 bit audio.
