Hi,
I wondered if I might be able to get some assistance from you guys:
I run a radio station on the internet and when there are live shows I want to be able to record the individual channels separately so that they can be edited if necessary. I have purchased an 828mkIII firewire.
I have: 2 mics, each with own valve preamp
2 CD players
2 Vinyl turntables with line out
1 computer line out for digital files; mp3, FLAC etc
1 Allen & Heath Broadcast mixer
I want to feed each source into the 828 and out to the mixer so that I can record and process if necessary via the 828.
I would like to know how to configure the 828 to achieve the above
Many Thanks

The only way to help you is with the specific model of the mixer. What is it?
Re: 828mk to record individual channels of radio station
The proper way to do this is to use direct outputs of a mixer to feed a recorder--this is because if your recorder dies you don't lose your on-air mix. Mixers that don't have direct outputs can try to workaround with sends and buses.
Your mixer doesn't have direct outs and it doesn't have enough sends to record all your sources discretely.
Therefore you have to put the MOTU 'in front of' the mixer if you want to record isolated tracks of each source.
You need connect your sources to the MOTU and set up a CueMix session that buses your inputs directly to your outputs, and then patch the MOTU outputs into your mixer.
See the MOTU's YouTube and manual for how CueMix works.
Also, you described 12 inputs. The 828 has 8 analog inputs. You'd have to use the digital inputs as well to get everything into it--you don't have enough analog inputs on the 828 for all your sources. Your digital sources hopefully have digital outputs that you can use instead.
