Not readily apparent? Are you kidding??? And you doubt the A/M app and/or plist can get corrupted??? It can and it does. But just so we're clear about how 'unapparent' creating different configs and editing them is in A/M, here's a little set of screen shots for ya... It uses a little device called a drop down menu.

I never said anything about corrupt plists and I'm sure that now you've shown the OP how to create configs, he'll find that his AMS is working properly.

I'm curious now. How are you sure about that? Intuition? :D One thing is never certain in computing and in life and that is certainty! $hit happens.

ahhh ha!! LOL

check it out Image

Its basically only for MIDI ....

For audio (my point and inquiry), you have to keep the AMS GUI open, to have the current settings. Otherwise it will default to your 1st MOTU PCI/ firewire consol setting in bank A.

For DP MOTU PCI works no matter what, I failed to mention my purpose/intention was for other app's and outputs.

So in essence, if you need to use another app- bank A ,B, C takes precedence , in that order.

e.g.
MOTU interface
BANK A - analoge channels 1-8
BANK B MAIN OUT
BANK C AES/EBU

In this case no matter what bank is defaulted in MOTU PCI consol AMS see's the first available bank in MOTU PCI consol as channels 1,2, so channel 3,4 in AMs is the next bank in MOTU PCI consol , etc, etc.

Proof in the puddin' notice AMs has channels3, 4 highlighted for my main outs

EDIT, correction of bank letters, not numbers

Oh, thanks MLC and NAZRAT for working this out with me.

I appreciate it.

The whole AMS thing always puzzled me  Clear as mud now

For another app (Fuzzmeasure) I have to use channels 11, 12 for AES output- analoge 1-8, mains9, 10 , AES 11,12. Follwing the bank order..
Now I can capture acoustical measurements with my Lavry D-10 !!

It also doesn't help that my Firewire 410 from M-Audio is also a MIDI device and so appears in both windows...
