Preferences window not responding

Post by Kev »

When I open the Preferences window for a second time in any session, it won't allow me to select any of the items in the left panel. It justs stays one the one that was selected last time I opened it. I have to close DP and relaunch it to make it work again.

I'd trash the DP plist. Very likely corrupted. Do this with DP not running. You can move the current plist out of its folder to save a copy in case I'm wrong. Second move: reinstall DP if the 1st move doesn't solve this. It probably will.

OK, but where is this folder? I searched for a file named "plist" but it doesn't seem to exist.

I know MLC was trying to be helpful, but "plist" is a Mac file. I don't know where the Windows equivalent would be, but it might be a config file, or worse, some arcane file in the Registry.

I found it! It's called Preferences (no file extension) and it's located within the Users AppData folders. Anyway, I renamed it, launched DP and a new file was automatically created. This seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks to both of you.

De nada! The clue was that the preferences were not being saved. Glad to help.
