Control Synth with USB MIDI keystation 32

I have a Fantom X8 conected with USB for MIDI thru. I also have a M-Audio Keystation 32 wich is also usb MIDI controller. I want my keystation to send midito my Fantom x 8. I have done this but there is about a 2 to 3 sec delay between when i hit a key on my keystation to when the sound leaves the Fantom X8....Im a noob so any advice would be helpfull
