I was informed that the issue will be fixed in an upcoming update. I the meantime, they suggested trying ASIO4ALL

I have an I7 laptop with Win 7 64-bit. I was a longtime DP user on the Mac, probably from 1995. I've switched everything to PC now and it has worked out great. So, I installed the DP 8 demo two weeks ago. It wouldn't recognize my Tascam firewire interface (FW-1804), which every other audio app has no problems with. So, I put it aside until today and I tried running it again. It completely froze up while scanning VST plug-ins. I had to halt it using Task Manager. I uninstalled it.

Do you have the latest audio drivers installed for the Tascam hardware?
If so, report this problem to MOTU and install ASIO4all and use the Tascam with that in the meantime. I´m sure MOTU will fix this issue.
But to give them a chance to fix the issue, please send your crash report and issues to MOTU tech support.
