Will this work? DP9 + Behringer XR18
As subject indicates, can I plug a Behringer XR18 into my windows machine (USB) and will DP9 see it as a sound interface and map all 18 channels into DP? Wondering what type of support there is given this combination.

Probably yes.

18 x 18 channel, bidirectional USB interface for direct recording on iPad etc.
This has been discussed before but I am not certain that anyone actually owned a unit.
Sweetwater carries it. If no one here weighs in with personal experience, I would give them a call and ask.

I've read it works with Sonar and shows up as 18 channels but... MOTU.... Plus the bi-directionality? Can you route 18 VST's to the XR18? Don't think one would want to and bypass MOTU's Mixer.... sort of creating a mobius loop at that point
Thanks Mike!
Thanks Mike!

On a Mac in DP9 the xr18 is seen as an USB audio interface. Aux 17-18 is treated as a stereo pair.
Output from audio tracks and plug-ins can be routed to it.
USB is for audio, use some other protocol to get MIDI control data to the XR18 - Ethernet, DIN or wireless.

As far as I can tell from the specs, the MIDI capabilities are for controlling the mixer from a MIDI source and not the other way around. I couldn't tell if you can do that through USB or if you need to use the 5-pin. The user guide should tell you its full functionality.reedster wrote: USB is for audio, use some other protocol to get MIDI control data to the XR18 - Ethernet, DIN or wireless.

Yea, not too worried about MIDI - I still have a MOTU Express-XT for that
