What is a good headset mic for live rock vocals?

Does anybody have any recommendations on a good headset mic for live vocals in the context of a rock band that might have moderate stage volume etc. I have a lower end Sennheiser and G3 beltpack and not really happy with it, plus it has a non standard connector, etc.

I saw this in a video and seemed to sound good. Not sure what model it is:

Kind of can of worms, James!

I've had good results with DPA 4088 headset and DAD4099 belt preamp and XLR connector.

IMHO, there is some learning curve to get exactly what you want while singing with a headset.
Placement and distance to mouth is something to test, tweak and control accurately.

As you may already know, in case of very loud stage, you may still prefer standard mic, though.
But, IMOE, being able to move your head freely while singing, is really a tremendous experience.

For loud, rocking vocals (and really excellent rejection of other noise on stage), I am told that the Crown CM311 is the bomb. Sells new for $400-$450.

The video appears to be the Crown CM311. I have one and use it when I'm playing multiple keyboards and not able to keep my head in a single spot to use a mic stand. It does the job well and sounds good. It takes some getting used to. However, if I'm able to use a mic stand, I prefer to go that route.

Thanks... those appear to be all traditional handheld mics. I'm looking specifically for a good headset/headworn mic. :)

Thanks. This looks like another article on handheld mics. I was looking at wireless HEADSET mics.

the 2 brands I have experience with are Crown & DPA. Both are good...but you will pay a little more for the quality (and DPA is slightly more expensive than Crown).

Crown (part of AKG/Harmon) has different mics with different sensitivity levels for the expected SPL level of the source (e.g. light vocals vs. hard rock screaming). I don't recall if DPA offers their headset mics in different sensitivity levels. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They think that stuff through.
