Fun! I like the "lapel fader" on the lead vocal. And the shoe leather fader on the strings and that weird horn whatever that was.

That is a Stroh Violin. They show up for sale now and then, usually in the $1K-$3K price range. My daughter wants one. There are a few collectors out there. Back in the day, they were popular in recording studios—the scene is accurate in that detail (even if it takes short cuts between the master and the first playback).

I just went and listened to some YT vids just to hear what it does. Just sounds like kind of a band-passed lo-fi violin. Must be fun to have that directionality. "Here's my violin in your face now."
