Recording thru Motu Ultralite MK3

Post by SarcasticNL »

Dear all,

Let's just start by saying that i'm an absolute newbie when it comes to professional audio interfaces and what not so please be gentle..

I'm a DJ who often makes mixes for numerous purposes, and used to use the simple line in from my windows PC.

And I bought a Motu Ultralite MK3 for my producing ends, but now I want to use my motu interface for recording from my pioneer djm800..

can you tell me wich cables I need, and where to put them so I have a kind-off "line-in" stereo? (thinking, 2x XLR male to a jack stereo or something?)

I breally don't know where to start with this, so all help is welcome..

thanx in advance,

Kevin / SarcasticNL

One place to start is to look at the connector and buy the cable that fits on the connector. Square-pegs-round holes kinda thing.

You should stay digital. Use the coax RCA digital out of the mixer into the MOTU. That's a standard composite RCA video cable (the yellow ones). Even a red/white "audio" one will probably work.

Use the same thing for the MOTU digital out to the mixer digital in. It's called SPDIF.

You need two of these: Image
