I think that might've been the original IIRC, Stoivo.

It makes me proud to be an Aussie to know that these units were conceived, designed and manufactured in Sydney. Every component was designed and built in-house, a bold move IMHO considering they'd only ever built microphones.

The reason I posted the pic is that there's too much to say and I'm not confident I could adequately describe these puppies. Words usually come easily to me, but in this case, I'll settle for a pic. I could just say these words though: Ridiculously awesome in every way, from packaging to build to performance. Absolutely Ridiculous.

I'd hoped someone would chime in by relating an experience through ownership or exposure; I know for sure Kassonica has 'em...

Seems the microphone business shut down last summer and moved to Reynolds? Other products still there?

This is as close as I can get to something connecting Opal and monkeys. Except it's apes. Sorry.

Naaa, you must have something stuck in your eyes, Stoivo:

http://www.rodemic.com/

Well, they speak like uneducated simians:

... Mark of placid audio USA choosed our studio against others...
Jack in the box from the UK builds an exiting tube microphone... (I think that's the one you use to announce that you're leaving the building. Must come in handy.)
We also gonna test the opal C12...

That's 3 errors in 3 successive sentences where only 4 exist (or should I say exit?) on the page! Way to go, fellas. :)

Nope. Nor is that a JBL ad even though that's an L100 speaker.

That was an ad for Maxell cassette tape.

At one point back in the 80s, I met Steve Steigman (the photographer for the poster) and got him to autograph my copy of the poster. I unfortunately lost it a number of years ago. :(

For me the clincher(!) is the way he's holding onto the arm rests.
