I'm looking for a simple 1 stop solution to achieve a 5.1 speaker system to work with DP on my G5 @ home..
That utilizes the toslink optical out on the G5 & supports DP's 96 kHz / 24-bit audio.
Can anyone confirm that i am write in thinking the logitech Z5500 system will accommodate all of this ??

any help or other options much appreciated

Re: 5.1 starter systems for DP use
HI Marc: I don't do 5.1 but that link looks pretty interesting.
Sorry I couldn't help ya.
I have a friend that does mixes on a small system like that one and when I listen to his mixes at home I amazed at the results.
I image if its setup right its all in the ears after that.
