Looks like and interesting little item. It's gotten some good reviews. I bet there's a V2 in the works.

Actually, my friend picked up one of those, and we were doing some hilarious things with it at an open mic a few months back. I ran it into my laptop, and gave it a piano sound, while I played Shreddage guitar on my keyboard... very strange.

I forgot my bass one day to another jam session, and the You Guitar was there, so I set my laptop to Scarbee M-Bass, and played the first 4 strings of the You Guitar. It worked pretty well, actually sounded really convincing. However, one thing that constantly got me is that I typically do some muting with my fretting hand, and you obviously can't do that with buttons, so I was constantly letting notes ring by accident. It would just take a little practice to work that out, but other than that, pretty neat. For $140, not a bad deal.

I bought one, but haven't had the chance to really mess around with it or try to record. It is fun though. I own an original Roland GM70 MIDI guitar rig also which I still use from time to time. The You-Rock tracks way better/faster and more portable, but I can see the issue with picking and muting strings that you were having. The $139 must have been a deal of the day thing because they're up to $159. That's much better than the $199 they were selling for when they first came out.

Crap. I am just about to sell my AXON AX50 and a GK3 pickup which cost me more than $700 a few years back. I don't know who is going to buy it now that this new MIDI guitar is available for so cheap.

I have zero doubt that the AXON is better quality and you can trigger MIDI from your favorite guitar... but still... I think I just lost a few hundred bucks with this new product on the market.
