computer keyboard plays rack instruments

Post by THETOC »

Just today i recognized that BPM plays notes (in the rack) via
the computer keyboard. Go to rack, choose an instrument, klick
on the keyboard/manual below ..and from then start playing with
the computer keyboard. (ASDF.. plays C,D,F,G..)

Since playing A on the computer keyboard plays C4 and S plays
D4 all the way up, i asked myself if there is keyboard shortcut for
switching octaves to go lower for bass sounds which start at C1?

Since i haven't found an octave switch (BPM 1.0.5) i directly
went to the edit section for instruments (hit edit button) and
typed -2 (which is the minimum there) at the MIDI/OCTAVE field
below TRANSPOSE. All gets transposed two octaves lower. To go
another octave lower use the SEMI(TONE) field next to it and type
-12 (semitones=1 ocatve) for minus another octave AND finally key-
caps playing starts at the keybord lowest end. So bass playing on
the computer keys is possible while BPM is kicking out the beats.
Recording is possible too. A bit tricky but it works. Check it out.

That's it, THETOC
