MIDI Editor Note Colors

Post by JSmith1234567 »

Does anyone know how the MIDI editor picks the colors for notes?

Is it from the user-assigned track color in the tracks-window?

Some of the notes I onscreen see are so faint (yellow for instance) that I can barely see the notes.

Thanks!

In Preferences..., There is a Display section, with a Track Colors sub-section. You can fiddle with some settings there.

I think also, if you have a default template, it will take colors from that until you start adding new tracks.

There's a MIDI Editing pref 'Shade notes to velocity', so lightly played notes will be lighter in color than those played hard. Some colors get difficult to see when this pref is enabled so I generally keep it off - so all notes are the same shade regardless of velocity.
