The 2018 MOTU-Mac/MOTUnation NAMM Dinner!!

Postby James Steele » Sat Dec 16, 2017 7:08 pm

IT'S COMING!! The 2018 21st anniversary MOTU-Mac/MOTUnation NAMM DINNER! Yes, that’s right, it’s THAT time of year again!

It's our annual get together of Digital Performer users... pros, amateurs... all our welcome. We talk about music, DP, sports, life in general and just have a good time putting faces with the names of many of the fellow DP'ers we interact with online! You do not have to be a NAMM attendee to go to the dinner, you can bring a friend, date, or anyone you would like.

This year it is Friday Jan. 26, 2018, 6:30p, at The El Torito Restaurant (where else?) 2020 E. Ball Rd., Anaheim, CA 92806. We have a private room at El Torito from 6:30p until closing, so don't worry about being "on Time". For those who were here a couple years ago, I have been promised by the manager that we have an iron clad guarantee on the room.

For those attending the NAMM show, we meet at the MOTU booth around 5:45p Friday afternoon so that anyone who needs a ride to the dinner can get one. Anyone who doesn't know who I am can just walk up to the handsome guy in a suit standing around the MOTU booth and say "Hi Jim!" That will probably be Jim Cooper, and he can point you towards me, James Steele. :woohoo:

This will be our TWENTY FIRST annual dinner, we started when Performer came on floppy disks (remember those?)! Each year the dinner gets bigger and better! The swag this year may appear (or not), depending on how busy I am.

This is our chance to show & tell the hard working MOTU guys & gals how much we appreciate all their hard work over the past year.

As usual, this is a "no host" affair.

What "NO HOST" means: we each pay our own way, plus a enough extra to cover our honored guests, the MOTU guys. As it turns out, Cambridge dollars are no good out here on the left coast. There will be drinking of alcoholic beverages. If you don’t imbibe, please understand that some of the MOTU guys do, as do most of the rest of us. Please figure that into what is included in your part of the payment. I'm sorry, but if you hang out all night and only order a Coke, that's going to be $20.

Here's the W,W,W,W,W:

Who: You + the uber-cool MOTU guys
What: Dinner, Cocktails, Dancing With The Stars audition opportunity!
When: Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 6:30pm
Where: El Torito Restaurant, 2020 East Ball Road, Anaheim, CA 92806 (714) 956.4880
Why: Why? Because we like you!

Please respond to this message privately (or not) as an RSVP or you can email me at admin@motunation.com. It's always good to get a head count for the restaurant.

Hope to see you there!

Hello Motu-diots,
Well, I won't be able to make it this year either (dang, dang, dang). At this rate I'll have to retire first.

Sorry I'm going to miss it... again.
It's the ear, not the gear!
