Hey all!
I'm doing some tech work for a composer in Los Angeles, and we're currently revamping his template for efficiency. However, his workflow requires that he have the ability to freeze his MIDI tracks. Here's our current situation:
His old template had VEPro setup with about 45 instances of kontakt, not utilizing the MAS plugins. Because of this, loading a project would take about 15 minutes at a time, simply because DP had to connect to so many VEP instances. We took everything down to 1 instance of VEPro using MAS, and now load time is about a minute (woohoo!). However, he has now lost the ability to freeze his MIDI tracks, as the one single instance of VEP is now in his V-Rack.
Is there a way to keep his old process of freezing the MIDI, but without requiring each VEP instance to be separate?? This seems like a pretty big hiccup in the software. Logic is able to freeze MIDI with no issues, and I'm not sure about cubase, but this needs to be a thing.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
