Re: 9.51 - Can anyone please confirm the following? Right-click MIDI editing still does not work in the Seq window, but works in the MIDI window. Last version working was 9.13. Since I do everything in the Seq window, this is a major inconvenience.
Thanks

On my Mac, it doesn't do in the Sequence window on my Mac what it does in the MIDI window. In the Sequence window, right-click restrains the note to it's current time... it only allows pitch change without changing the note on position. In the MIDI window, it opens a mini-menu, which I assume is what you wish it would do.

OK, yes. But it used to work in the Sequence window is the point, going back to version 7, which is as long as I've been using DP. Why did they eliminate that functionality? It doesn't make sense.

That would be a good question to ask MOTU. How the heck would WE know?

Thanks, I just wanted to confirm the behavior, not the reason for it. MOTU confirmed that it is a bug, or rather, will put back that functionality. I thought it would have been done for 9.5.1 but no. What is telling though is that on this site no one has complained except me. Is no one using the sequence window for editing MIDI?

Not me. I always switch to the MIDI Window, and clean things up one track at a time. It keeps me from making dumb mistakes like leaving in ghastly mistakes... which I would hear LOUD AND CLEAR at mixdown.

Phil O wrote:There was an odd unexpected quit I'd get sometimes when opening a file (since v9) by double-clicking it in the Finder. Too early to tell, but I think it may be fixed. I worked all day yesterday in 9.51 and didn't see it.

I posted this 2 days ago. It's still working without any quits on my end. I think they fixed this bug.

I haven't installed yet on my older Mac Pro (1,1) - OS 10.6.8. Anyone know about compatibility with that beast?

Mike, as always you are very thorough. Thanks so much for your input here at Cornie Haven. If we haven't said it enough, your generosity is greatly appreciated. Where did you find this info? I looked in the 9.5 update notes and read me file to no avail.

Just finished my first project in DP 9.5.1 and it's just fine here. No crackling at save while the transport is running or any other such nonsense. The performance meter (as usual) goes into the red when loading a VI or some other none CPU intensive activity. Seems to be when the process is done, like DP is sending an overload message when it re-cues the sequence. I've come to think of it as the idiot lights in my car. Just turning on the key will say you're overheated, your tires are flat, your brake is on, your oil is low, and your airbags aren't inflated. Then you start the engine and (hopefully) they all disappear and you're on your way.
I LOVE DP and MOTU. What an 'effing great app. We are soooo damn lucky to be alive when this thing is available.
Not a paid spokesperson for MOTU or MOTUNATION, but I did win a free Track 16 a few years ago at a MOTU event. LOL
