DP and Allen & Heath QU-16 Mixer

Post by arielmusic »

Has anyone used an Allen & Heath QU series mixer as a DP controller using MIDI? I can't figure out how to get the QU16 to show up in the A & H DAW software as choosable in the MIDI Input and Output Port dropdown menu.

I know so little about this that I shouldn't even be responding, but I happened upon a discussion about this recently and someone mentioned something about monitor objects (or perhaps MIDI monitor objects) in the manual. That's all I know. Hope it's a clue.

Thinking about replacing my old Mackie mixer, my 2408mk3 and incorporating a control surface for DP all in one fell swoop with one of these. Something I just learned at NAMM is that my old PCIe driven 2408mk3 isn't helping me out any compared to USB 2 audio interfaces at this point (not to mention USB 3).

Arielmusic, did you ever have success get the MIDI controller to work with DP? Anyone else have any experience A&L Qu series with DP or as just an audio i/o?
