I have on occasion but honestly, I've been weening myself off of Waves. I haven't had any issues with it when I do use it though.

The only reason I can see for using that is for portability of effects setups between computers or DAWs. If you are only working on one DAW, one computer, then you can save entire channel strips full of plugins with their settings in one stroke in DP. The top insert slot does that. Then loading another channel strip with the same setup is also a one-stroke event. I use it all the time for my start positions, then mix from there.

But if you want to do something similar between DAWs, the Waves device looks handy.

Waves Studiorack Plugin chainer

It evidently only works with Waves stuff, and a couple of other companies.

I wish DP had a feature where you could call up all the plug-ins on a specific channel in one window.

What do you want to do that you can't do in the Channel Strip window?

The Channel Strip window just shows settings for MOTU plugin only.

I'd love to see all of the plugins on a channel open together in one pane.

I see. You're talking about the graphics for compression and EQ which as you say, only shows MOTU versions of those two effects?

Yeah!

I would love Motu to do some sort of thing where you could pick a channel and click on something and all of the inserted plugin interfaces would show up in one window.

There are "effects rack" things for Slate and Waves, but why not just a new type of MOTU window that would have all the inserted plugins open in just one window?

Yeah, SoundToys and MeldaProduction plugins have "effects racks" as well.
