Sampl Rate conversion question?

Post by RROY »

What is the best way to convert mixes from 48k to 44.1k? Does DP do a good enough job of the conversion or is there other software to consider for this process?
Mac Pro 2x2.4 quad core /24 gb ram/OS 10.13.6, Dp 10.13, MTP AV, /UAD 2, KOMPLETE 12, Stylus RMX, SD 3.0, EZ Drummer 3, A&H ZED R 16.

If things haven't changed, DP was one of the best DAWs that were measured for this, but it was a few years ago.

It's very transparent. But DP (MOTU) tends to rest on its laurels a bit much, so if other DAWs worked on better algorithms during the last years...

Either way, DP does it very well.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Hello,
you'll find most DAW's use the Mac OSX sample rate converter which was pretty good as of OSX 10.8. Unless you are using a 3rd party plugin.

Check out - http://src.infinitewave.ca/
for comparisons.
It's the ear, not the gear!
MacPro 2.66 gHz 12 core (dp 10.01) - Lynx Aurora16 - OS 10.12.6/WaveArts/TruePianos - Legend 32ch console - G16 Fostex
(2) MacPro 2.66 gHz 12 core (DP 9.5) OS 10.12 - 24 I/O - 2408 mk2 - Da7- (PT 12) - 8 trk MCI
MacPro 2.66 gHz 12 core - OSX 10.12 - Genesys Black - Lynx Aurora16 - waves - Oxford - McDSP - 16 trk Otari - analog sweetness
