Masterworks Collection

Post by anapena »

Hi there,

I'm considering whether upgrade my Waves update plan or buying Masterworks Collection. My needs are primarily LA-2 and LA-3 emulations. Has anyone compared these between Waves and DP?
I'm running OSX El Capitan(10.11) and Masterworks Collection is quite old, will it work?
I used to be a longtime DP user from 3 to 7 and loved very much these plugins and DP of course.
Nowadays I use mainly Nuendo.

At home, REASON 9.5 and LOGIC 9 don't see them .

Do you own the Masterworks Collection bundle, or just what comes with DP?

The plugs that come with DP are MAS and only work in DP. You need to purchase the bundle to have them work elsewhere.

I evoke the Masterworks Collection Bundle, bought next to it. The MOTU plug-ins were fine with LOGIC 9 open in 32-bit version.
I can try to reinstall them and keep you updated, not forgetting their 1.01 update.

Yep. http://motu.com/products/software/mwc/highlights.html
How about with iLok? I wouldn't want to buy it as usb key. I have installed iLok License Manager as software for a few plugins. Anyone tested?
MW Collection is about 99 euros at local retailer, not bad I think.

I think that's a good deal for those plug-ins. I love the Masterworks stuff.

Love the MW EQ. After years of working on Trident consoles, this is how I like EQ to sound. I hardly ever use anything else for EQ. The MW multiband compressor is very good, too.

I understood why these plug-ins did not works with the recent REASON 9.5 , accepting VST: these Masterworks are only available in VST 3 format and not VST 2.
